How to Treat Pasty Butt

Step 1 — Soften the Area

Use a warm, damp paper towel or cloth to gently soften the dried droppings.

⚠ Never pull dried material off forcefully, as this can damage delicate skin.

Step 2 — Clean Carefully

Once softened, gently wipe away the blockage until the vent area is completely clear.

Step 3 — Dry the Chick

Pat the area dry carefully before returning the chick to the brooder.

A damp chick can chill quickly.

A tiny amount of:

• coconut oil
• olive oil
• petroleum jelly
